Nationhood and National Pride Campaign
The items will be used as the first form of any assistance a critically ill or injured individual receives towards saving lives in disaster or emergency situations, as well as to prevent injury turning fatal and provide immediate on-site assistance to a person in distress.
Marelize Robberts, public relations officer at ErongoMed said the donation to the Khomas Region Forum of the Nationhood and National Pride (NNP) campaign is a token of goodwill to support Namibians towards being proud and patriotic citizens.
She also said that the Khomas Region Forum would be included in any of ErongoMed’s future activity of information awareness or contribution to value, which would help the forum and campaign to gain exposure in the country.
The director of Print Media Affairs at the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, Tjiuai Kaambo, said the NNP campaign is a government programme aimed at addressing social ills such as tribalism, racism, vandalism, crime, gender-based violence and lack of respect towards national symbols, among other issues, by encouraging a sense of pride and responsibility among citizens.
Meanwhile, the vice-chairperson of the Khomas Region Forum of the NNP campaign, Fazilla Bock-Kakombo, said the forum acknowledges the value of ErongoMed’s donation which will help to further facilitate information awareness and dissemination of the campaign that seeks to reduce or eradicate social problems such as tribalism, racism, vandalism, crime, gender-based violence and lack of respect toward national symbols experienced in Namibia."
The NNP campaign was officially launched by the former president, Hifikepunye Pohamba, in April 2011. The campaign is in line with the policy of inclusivity being promoted by the incumbent President Hage Geingob.
